Giacomo (Jack) Joseph Spadafino February 23, 1928 - November 14, 2020 Beloved husband of Alice (Perez) Spadafino and Loving Stepfather to Josephine (Chickie) and Michael (Butchie). Jack was a World War II veteran, as part of the occupational forces, after Japan's unconditional surrender. Upon his return, Jack served as a police officer for the 19th precinct in Manhattan. After twenty years on the force, he retired and moved to Southern California, following his stepdaughter and other family members, whom he and Alice loved and deeply missed. Jack was fortunate to have had the opportunity to fulfill his dream, sitting front row, watching his beloved Joe DiMaggio and “The Mick” Mickey Mantle of the New York Yankees in their heyday. He was fond of recalling many stories of going to watch his Yankees. After he and Alice moved to Southern California, Jack found work at Northrup Grumman, as a Security Officer, where he eventually retired. Jack was an incredible man, and gentleman, as so many have referred to him, with an unmatched zest for life. He never missed an opportunity to befriend a stranger and regale them with his favorite topics: The New York Yankees, his service to his country and his experiences as a NYPD officer. He was a Patriot, who was so proud of his country, he flew his flag everyday and supported veterans and their service dogs. He will be Greatly Missed Ciao Giacomo, ‘til we meet again!
