James Fredrick Magee, Jr. was born on February 16, 1975 to James Fredrick Magee, Sr. and Sherry Britton Magee. He was the oldest of five children; Nadia, Joseph (Ashanti), Anita and Tyler. James grew up in the city of New Orleans, Louisiana; he received his formal education at Helen Cox High School. After graduating from High School, he worked for a season in various parts of Louisiana; and later moved to California to give both himself and his family an opportunity to have a better life. James was a humble man of stature and became a servant of God, willing to give the shirt off his back, if it meant helping someone less fortunate than himself. In addition to his own salvation, he wanted his entire family to know and fear the Lord God. Even during Covid-19, he would have his family attending Zoom Bible Classes on line. After receiving Christ Jesus into his heart and dedicating the rest of his life to the Lord, James went on telling as many people as possible about Jesus' great love; and how the Lord changed his life. After securing his food-handlers permits and equipment's necessary for his business in the State of California; James dreamed of opening his own restaurant in the Inland Empire and doing well in the food industry, so he could expand his vision in helping his immediate family and others, never wavering from a compassionate heart and mind-set. One of James' favorite past times was cooking in the kitchen, any kitchen. He was a Master at Bar-B-Cueing using his own home-made Bar-B-cue Sauce, that kept people coming back for more. It was amazing how James would Bar-B-cue regardless of the weather conditions. James is survived by his beautiful wife Karlita, sons James, Josh, D'Andre, Kewine, Kemar, Keelan, Kalem and Joaquin; and daughters Angel, Semaj, Azariyah; three grand-children; mother, Sherry Britton Magee, in-laws, Russell (Alice) Sanderson Janice (Stan) Rosendahl, three sisters, Nadia Clark, Anita Magee, Anita Magee and one brother, Joseph (Ashanti) Magee and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, James Fredrick Magee, Sr. So, while we gather to celebrate James' life, a life well lived, please know that when you see us crying it's because we are missing the man he was, the son he was, the husband he was, the father he was, the brother he was, the grand-father he was, the uncle he was and the friend he was. But, as people of faith we know where he is, so we set aside our heavy hearts and we rejoice, and we ask you to rejoice with us.
