James Ross Pauly

James (Jim) Ross Pauly was born in Bakersfield on April 8, 1927, to Alice and Leo Pauly. Jim and his family, including older brother George, moved to Corona when he was 12. Jim attended Corona schools and prior to graduation, at the age of 17, joined the Navy. After his return from the Navy, he attended Chaffey College while working fulltime at Emersons Men's Clothing. Jim married Katy Iriart in 1947 and later had two daughters, Rhonda and Kathy. In 1969, Jim and Frank Emerson became equal partners in Emerson Pauly Menswear. He retired in 1993 after working there for 51 years. Jim and Katy enjoyed traveling, reading, visiting with friends, and watching sports. He was a dedicated volunteer to many Corona organizations for more than 70 years. Jim exemplified the Rotary moto, "Service Above Self". Jim is survived by his daughter Rhonda and husband Randy, daughter Kathy and husband Pat, his three grandchildren, and 6 greatgrandchildren, all of whom he adored. Jim left this world to be with Katy on Friday, February 4, 2022. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to either the Corona Elks lodge or Corona Rotary Club.
