Jessie W. Drewette

Jessie W. Drewette, age 94, was born in Blantyre, Scotland on August 20, 1919. She went peacefully to see our Lord on January 22, 2014 in Tustin, California. She was the youngest of three daughters born to David E. and Jessie L. Wood. She came to America as a child with her family and settled in Delaware where her father was a pastor. She graduated from nursing school at Wilmington General Hospital in 1940 and shortly after joined in The Army Air Corp. Jessie served as a 2nd Lieutenant stationed at Mitchell Field in New York where she met her husband, Frederick M. Drewette. Together they moved to Santa Ana, California and raised one daughter and two sons. Jessie enjoyed being the supervising nurse at Doctors Hospital for 20 years. She was a member of Saint Peter Lutheran Church in Santa Ana, She loved music and square dancing with the Church Mice Square Dance Club. Her hobbies were sewing, crafting, reading, fishing, and camping with the family. Jessie W. Drewette is survived by one daughter, Diane Porter and two sons, David and Fred Drewette, seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She is greatly loved and will be missed by all.
