Jesus T Hernandez

Jesus Hernandez passed away on March 26, 2022, at the age of 89, in Riverside, California. He was surrounded by his family in his home. He was born on August 28, 1932 in the town of Huitron, in Durango, Mexico. He is survived by 6 daughters - Maria Godoy, Betti De la Torre, Martha Guillen, Elizabeth Mendez, Jessy Delgado, Diana Nieves, as well as 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Jesus lived in his hometown and at the age of 19 he married Celia Aguilar. In 1952, he journeyed to the United States with his father-in-law where they worked as braceros in the fields in Texas. In 1953 they welcomed their first child, Maria. By 1959, they were a family of 6. In April 1962, the family migrated to the U.S. They lived in Santa Ana and by 1964, they had welcomed two more daughters. Jesus worked at Lion Country Safari for 15 years and continued working in landscaping until 1983. Jesus and Celia dedicated most of their time to taking care of their grandchildren. They moved to Riverside in October of 1993. Jesus loved gardening and always managed to have a beautiful garden full of trees and flowers. He and his wife loved to dance to conjunto norteo and were always the first ones on the dance floor. Jesus was a caring and dedicated father who loved his family and friends. Jesus was taken care of by his daughter Jessy and son-in-law Salvador. On the afternoon of his passing, he was surrounded by his loving family in his home. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jesus' life on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at noon at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Riverside.
