Joanne (Jambon) DeRuyter Joanne (Jambon) DeRuyter passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, July 23, 2023, she was 90 years old. Joanne was born to Dominic and Yvonne Jambon on October 14, 1932. She was a graduate of Valencia High School (Womens Athletic Award) and Fullerton College (also active in sports) and became a comptometer operator for the Tax Assessors Office in Orange County for 10 years. Always interested in athletics, she was a lifetime fan of college football and Angels baseball. In 1961, she married Leo DeRuyter and moved to his ranch in Aberhill, where David and Leanne were born. After Aberhill, Joanne and Leo moved to Artesia, where Nancy was born and finally settled and have lived in Corona since 1966, where Greg & Mark were born. Leo and Joanne owned Bourbon Tree Liquor and a Carwash. Joanne was a member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church for 49 years and participated in the choir in the late 80's and early 90's. She also enjoyed Family Gatherings, Time with Friends, including attending the Annual Sewing Club Friends Christmas Party, Sunday Breakfast with Church Friends, Shopping and Lunch with her sisters and especially the St. Matthew's Young-At-Heart group where she was a dedicated attendee. Preceded in death by her husband Leo DeRuyter, she leaves five children: David (Nancy), Leanne Perez, Nancy Day (Ken Sr.), Greg (Desiree), and Mark (Jennifer).. She also leaves seven grandchildren (Kenny Day Jr., Christina Day, Ashley Perez, Madison (Madi) DeRuyter, McKayla DeRuyter, Dylan DeRuyter & Presley DeRuyter) and one great grandson (Kenny Day III), along with three sisters (Teddy McGinnis, Marie Block, Isabelle Hlavac and one brother, Jean Jambon). A Rosary and Funeral Mass will take place on Monday, August 7, 2023, at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, 2140 W. Ontario Ave, Corona beginning with a Rosary at 10 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m Burial will take place immediately following Mass at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, 7845 Santiago Canyon Rd., Orange at 12:30 p.m. with a reception immediately following the Burial.
