Joe Earl Wedgeworth passed away on fathers day June 21, 2015 at 11:07 am. Joe was just shy of his 62 birthday on July 3. He passed away from an aggressive form of Multiple Myeloma. Joe and his wife Berta had just celebrated 40 years of marriage. They have three sons, Adam, Jarret and Matthew Wedgeworth. they have lived in Corona since 1986. Joe went to school at Fresno State college as it was called then, for four years; met Berta and were married after she graduated. Joe had studied to be a CPA but he didnt want to be stuck sitting behind a desk so he went to Los Angeles Trade Tech and graduated with Honors. Santa Monica, Cal Trans and Out of State Cos. Offered him jobs but Joe wanted to be close to his family and so he chose the City of Compton. Joe was a member of Crossroads Church for many years where he enjoyed making props and participating in the many Christmas plays. Later He became a member of West Grand Baptist Church. He was very active in the Boy Scouts having served as a scout master for 18 years. He helped many scouts through their Eagle projects. He saw his own son achieve his Eagle. He continued on in the troop even after his son left. There were scouts to mentor. Joe could do almost anything he put his mind to and if he couldnt help you hed find someone who could. He was a true gentleman that way. Joe continued his mentoring at work as well always willing to teach those who took the initiative and approach him with problems. He was loved by many and many called him friend. You were always my better half. We all love you.
