John D Bourbonnais

April 3, 1918 — October 20, 2015

John (Jack) Donald Bourbonnais Jack Bourbonnais, at age 97, went to be with his Lord on October 20, 2015 in Riverside, CA. He was born on April 3, 1918 in Oakland, Michigan and moved to Hemet, CA in 1923. He served as a technician in the Army Medical Corps stationed in Okinawa and worked as a painter for 33 years with Riverside Unified School District. Jack married Joanna Ruth Jones on June 7, 1948, and was happily married for 65 years. He demonstrated loving care, remaining by her side while she struggled with dementia her last 5 years of life. He helped build Bethel Chapel, Riverside in the 50s and faithfully ministered, teaching Sunday school, home bible studies, hospital and prison ministries, youth meetings, youth camp counseling and as a craft worker. Jacks greatest passion was to serve and glorify his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, to study and teach the bible and to live out loving devotion to his wife and family. An evangelist at heart, he seized every opportunity to share Gods love, whether one-on-one or by giving a gospel tract. His was a rare and earnest example of honor and commitment to God and could be found on any given morning in prayer on his knees. Jack and Joanna had five children: Priscilla preceded him in death (husband Larry Baker), Joan (husband Mike Bradley), John (wife Catherine), Tim (wife Bobbi), Bill (wife Robin). Jack is also survived by 13 grandchildren and their spouses, and 31 great-grandchildren.
