On Wednesday, November 7, 2018, John David Huvler, loving husband and father and friend to all those who knew him, passed away at the age of 58. John was born on September 25, 1960 in Orange California to Beatrice June Bailey Huvler and James Ellsworth Huvler Sr. John grew up in Anaheim and was a proud graduate of Anaheim High School in 1978. In September 1991, he met his future wife, Leesa Ellen Cook and they were married on October 10, 1992. The have one daughter, Beatrice. John was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed serving others. John served in the United States Navy from 1980 - 1985 as a Submariner on the USS Blueback. After his discharged from the Navy, John went to work for Disneyland in June of 1986, where he worked in the New Orleans Main Kitchen until his untimely death. John loved sports, both playing and watching. He played football for Rancho Santiago Community College (Santa Ana College) and for the semi-professional Orange Cowboys. He also participated in the Disney softball league for many years. After retiring from football and softball, he found a new sport to play, Australian Rules football. He played Aussie Rules until he was forced to retire from playing contact sports entirely. His sports teams were the Navy Midshipmen, the Anaheim Angels, the Green Bay Packers and the Anaheim Ducks. John was preceded in death by his father, James, his mother, June and his brother Jeff. He is survived by his wife Leesa, their daughter Beatrice and his brothers Jim, Kris and Kurt. A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 12th at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 5840 Mitchell Ave Riverside, CA 92505 at 11:00 am.
