JOHN CRAIG POWERS
Our beloved Son, Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Brother, John Craig Powers, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, March 26, 2026. John Craig was born February 20, 1965, in Westminster, Orange County, California. He was the youngest of four children born to Robert F. and Virginia Wauson Powers. John Craig is survived by his Wife, Kristen Powers, children, Braxton (Edna), Grant (Rebecca), Hailey Powers(Spencer), and Corinne Powers. Grandsons Emerson Loveland and Harrison Loveland. Father Robert F. Powers and siblings Robert Jr (Jan), Raymond (Tedi), and sister Robin Loder (Steven). He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Wauson Powers. John Craig was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served an LDS Mission to the North Carolina Greensboro ASL and English-speaking Mission from 1988 to 1990. Raised by deaf parents, John Craig was proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and was employed as an ASL interpreter at the time of his passing. His church service varied from Missionary to Sunday School Teacher and Stake High Council Representative, assigned to the membership of the Riverside ASL Wards as the Elders Quorum President. He loved his family and served faithfully in his church. John and Kristen were married for Time and Eternity in the Los Angeles, CA LDS Temple on August 4th, 1990.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 12:30 PM, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 4375 Jackson Street, Riverside, California. 92503. Viewing for Family and Friends will be from 11:30 AM to 12:15. PM. Internment will be Monday, April 13, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Memorial Park, 11500 Arlington Ave., Riverside, CA 92505. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Thomas Miller Mortuary and to all who have reached out with loving words and encouragement in this difficult time. We will miss you, John Craig – and we know we will see you again.
