Jorge Luis Tejeda

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jorge Luis Tejeda. Jorge was born on March 29, 1963, in Santa Barbara, CA, and passed away peacefully in Riverside, CA on September 11, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Jorge shared 38 wonderful years with his wife, Ann-Margaret. More than husband and wife, they were best friends who shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and memories. Together, they proudly raised their two daughters, Sarah and Maria, who were the pride and joy of his life.

Jorge was a devoted father who provided unconditional love and support. He loved giving his daughters nicknames, making up silly words, and changing the lyrics to songs just to make them laugh. He taught his girls how to ride dirt bikes, take care of their cars, and enjoy life's adventures.

A proud USC football fan, Jorge loved tailgating, where everyone looked forward to his gatherings, good food, and great company. He looked forward to Notre Dame trips with the Carpinteria Gang and he especially enjoyed road trips with Maria to watch USC play away games, creating memories they would cherish forever.

Jorge was raised in Carpinteria, where he built lifelong friendships with his fellow Warriors through football and soccer. He graduated from Carpinteria High School in 1981 and was honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1984.

In 1987, Jorge began his career in the fire sprinkler industry. Through his strong work ethic, dedication, and commitment to others, he earned the respect of his coworkers and was always willing to help others learn and grow. He became a mentor and teacher to many, taking pride in seeing those around him develop and succeed.

In addition to his wife, Ann-Margaret, and daughters, Sarah and Maria, Jorge is survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law: Fernando and Lorry Tejeda of Carpinteria; Albert and Deborah Tejeda of Oxnard; Diane, widow of his late brother, Peter Tejeda; his parents-in-law, Joe and Cynthia Gigantino, his brother-in-law and wife, Joe and Christine Gigantino and his sister-in-law and husband, Donna and Brad Burton. He also leaves behind 13 nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly.

Jorge was preceded in death by his parents, Felipe “Pete” and Guadalupe Tejeda; his nephew, William Burton; and, most recently, his brother, Peter Tejeda.

Jorge’s spirit lives on through the family who felt his love every day, the friends and neighbors he helped without hesitation, and the countless memories, stories, and nicknames he left behind. His laughter, kindness, and love will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

Family and friends are invited to join us for a Mass at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, 2140 W. Ontario Ave., Corona, CA on October 6, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., with a reception to follow.

Military honors will be held on October 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, CA.

A celebration of life for Jorge and Peter will take place at Toro Canyon Park on October 17, 2026, at 12p.m., noon.
