Joseph Garlan Danyluk

Joseph Garlan Danyluk, 76, of Riverside, passed away in his home Saturday, February 18. He was born August 7, 1940, in Inglewood, the son of Peter and Maxine Danyluk. He is survived by his wife of twenty years, Barbara Danyluk (Settles), and children, Peter Danyluk (wife, Ann) of Newindsor, New York and Stephanie Danyluk of Stevenson Ranch, step-children, Debi Erick (husband, Bruce) of Amelia Court House, Virginia, Cynthia Brooks of Redmond, Oregon, Leesa Glassick (husband, Bryan) of Corona, sixteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by step-daughter, Patricia Tuttle and grandson, Louis Tuttle both of Springfield, Illinois. Mr. Danyluk graduated from North Hollywood High in 1958. He served in the U. S. Army from 1963 to 1965. Upon honorary discharge Joe joined Homer Mann Trucking low bed heavy equipment hauling team. In 1987 working with McCoy Construction Joe moved to Riverside. He retired after more than thirty years in the heavy haul trucking industry to begin a second career in the motion picture industry working on numerous films. He is most known among friends and family as the driver of Optimus Prime and Bone Crusher in the Transformer movie series. Joseph served as a member of Masonic Lodge 618 of Burbank, Al Malaikah Shriners, Scottish Rite, American Legion and the Teamsters Union. Joseph enjoyed boating and fishing at his vacation home on Sweetwater Lake in Indiana where the stories were always bigger than the fish. Masonic rites and Army Honor Guard services will be held at 11 am at Thomas Miller Mortuary on Saturday, February 25, with internment at a later date in White Hall, Illinois.
