Karlene Dee Thorp

Karlene Dee Thorp (Stukey), age 47, passed away on January 20, 2016, due to complications from pneumonia. She was born on February 29, and grew up in Corona, graduating from Corona High in 1986. She lived at Two Harbors on Catalina Island for 10 years before becoming branch administrator at Graebel Van Lines in Corona. She is survived by her son, Steven Thorp; her father David (Cindy) Stukey; her mother Rita (Al) Johnson; her sister Shaylene (Mike) Cortez; nephews Jesse Jeremy Cortez and Chris Engman; her aunts Darlene (Bob) Schelke and Carol Bryan; and numerous cousins and friends. Her laugh, smile and personality always drew everyone in. A Celebration of Life will be held on January 30 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Corona Elks Lodge. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Wings for Steven either at GoFundMe/76kg9h2k or through the family. Her world was her son and her dream was for him to finish college where he is currently a student at Cal Baptist.
