Kathleen McArdle Palmieri was born on September 1, 1932 in Albany, New York. Her parents, Bridie and Bernard emigrated from Ireland to New York. She was proud of her Irish heritage. Kathleen had one brother, John, who has passed away. Kathleen met Amadeo (Jim) Palmieri at a dance in Albany, New York. She worked for ATT Phone Company while Jim completed school at Albany College of Pharmacy. They had a three year courtship before getting married on June 19, 1954. They began their family one year after their marriage. Jim purchased a pharmacy in Norwich, New York and raised their seven children there until they moved to Corona in September of 1969. At the urging of Jims sister, Angela Furtek, they settled in Corona. Eventually, Jim opened a local drug store and called it, “Palmieri Pharmacy.” Kathleen and Jim raised seven children: Colleen (Vern) Whitt, Thomas (Judy) Palmieri, Steven (Shelly) Palmieri, James Palmieri, Kathleen (Kevin) Iriart, John (Jennifer) Palmieri and Joseph (Nicolette) Palmieri. The twins, John and Joe, were her grand finale! Kathleen was very proud of her children. She has 17 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Kathleen also had a passion for animals and birds-she loved to take in the “strays.” She supported the SPCA and the Salvation Army for many years. She loved God and was an active member of Crossroads Christian Church for almost 40 years, where she still has many friends. A private memorial service for Kathleen will be held at Crossroads Christian Church. In lieu of flowers, please send a remembrance to Crossroads Christian Church in memory of Kathleen.
