Kenneth John Rogers 81, a resident of Riverside, Ca. passed away January 25, 2024. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, the son of John and Estelle Rogers. The eldest of two brothers Jim and Rick and one sister Dawn. He is proceeded in death by his parents, sister Dawn and brother Jim.
He will be missed by his wife Nancy of 60 years, his children Laura (Russ), Darryl (Laura) and Michael (Michelle), 7 grandchildren Valerie, Lindsey, Mitchell, Jaimie, Mitchell, Chloe and Ava, 2 great grandchildren Kaladin and Jasper, Nieces Livia, Sherrie and Steffani, Nephews Richard and Aaron all who loved him dearly, Ken loved his family and always made them the priority in his life. He enjoyed the simple things in life and made an effort to spend time and talk with those he loved. He worked hard to provide for his family. He was a kind and generous man and was happiest spending time with his family and friends. Ken had a funny sense of humor and would always tell you a joke.
Ken loved to travel and has many memories of the trips they took around the United States including Hawaii and a cruise to the Mediterranean on their 50th Anniversary.
Ken went to the University of Illinois Champaign where he got his pilot's license. Ken and Nancy got married in 1963. Ken moved the family to Evergreen, Co. in 1973 where he worked for American Foods driving a truck. It was there he had his dream house built and he raised his family. While still living in Colorado Ken worked for Consolidated Freightways. and was an over the road truck driver. He was transferred to St. Louis, Missouri in 1986 worked there for 8 years. He asked for a transfer to California in 1994 so he could be closer to his children and grandchildren. When Ken retired, he enjoyed beach parties, holiday celebrations, backyard barbecues, photography, ping pong and reading, but more than anything Ken loved Nancy.
A memorial service will be held at the Thomas Miller Mortuary in Corona, Ca. Feb. 13, 2024, at 12pm, Ken will be interred at Corona Sunny Slope Cemetery at 1:30pm.
He will be forever remembered and forever loved and missed.
