Kenneth Miles Nease passed away on January 26th, 2015. Known as Miles to his immediate family and Ken to all others, he was born in Niagara Falls, New York and moved to Anaheim, CA when he was 7. Ken grew up with a love of music since the age of 9, playing the trombone and cultivated a passion for model trains and the great outdoors. His passion for music prompted his involvement in the Kingsmen Drum and Bugle Corps where he found a brotherhood of like-minded, dedicated kids that became his extended family. As drum major, Ken led the Valencia High School band for two years. Ken a was proud US Naval veteran following in the footsteps of his Dad in service to our country-a love for his country remained a center piece of his life. His love of nature led to his degree in Forestry at Northern Arizona University. He then completed a Masters program in Buisness Administration and Cal. State Fullerton, followed by a career as a biology teacher and then as an administrator at Western High School. Ken relished the opportunity to share his knowledge and interests in the natural world with his “kids”. He and his loving wife of 25 years, Deborah Vanderford Nease, were faithful members of the Crossroads Christian Church, Corona, CA Whether on the local trains exploring southern California, marching in the Kingsmen Alumni Corps, enjoying family time or hiking in the mountains, he was a compassionate, caring and loving gentleman. Ken was preceded in death my his mother and father, Margaret A. and Kenneth E. Nease and is survived by his wife, Deborah Nease, sisters Jo Ann Hundza, Patti Nease Scott and Nancy Nease, and nieces and nephews. Ken (Miles) will be greatly missed by his loving family, friends, colleagues and students. As a beloved husband, brother, uncle, and friend his memory will live in our hearts until we meet again.
