Lavinia Ruth Strehlow

Lavinia Ruth Strehlow, 92, passed away peacefully October 14, 2017 listening to her much loved classical music. Born June 23, 1925 in Monroe, South Dakota. She came to California in 1942 and began a career as an X-Ray Technician at Orthopedic Hospital in Los Angeles. She was proud of climbing Mt. Whitney and hiking the Grand Canyon despite physical limitations. At USCs University Methodist Church she met John Richard Strehlow. They married in 1960 and together raised 3 children with a love of the outdoors. She was an auxiliary volunteer at Corona Regional Medical Center for many years. She enjoyed reading, traveling and was a long time member of St. Johns Episcopal Church. The last few years she was lovingly cared for at Vista Cove Assisted Living. The family thanks all the Vista Care staff and friends from St. Johns that visited her. She was preceded in death by her husband John and her son Alan. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Malinda Difley (Bruce), son, Stephen (Debbie) Strehlow and granddaughters, Megan Emily Difley. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, October 29th at St. Johns Episcopal Church in Corona.
