Lawrence David Harper

Lawrence David Harper was born July 16, 1971 to Helen Virginia Harper and Glen David Harper in the city of Downey, CA. He grew up in Cypress, CA where he was the oldest of his siblings Keith, Kris, and Tiffaney. In his childhood he participated in many sports including soccer, baseball, and basketball. He was also a Boy Scout and earned his Eagle Scout with a project that helped to clean up the local church, painting benches and other facility upgrades. In high school he participated in band and played the Trombone, but his real musical passion was for Oingo Boingo. After high school he went on to work at German Auto where he had been an apprentice all through high school. He was a master mechanic on any VW model. But he was a Chevy man at heart and loved his Chevy trucks. His other loves were making friends and socializing at the local Campus Billiard where everyone knew his name (Lar-Mo). He was always a good friend, willing to help out whenever someone needed it, and was up for any celebration. He loved joining his friends at Madi Gras in New Orleans every year. As a seasoned bachelor, he surprised everyone when he announced he was getting married. On October 9, 2010 he married Karey McClain and stepped in to the role of stepdad to Justin McClain. On April 6, 2012 they welcomed their son Jeremy David Harper to the family. Always up for fun with his family, they enjoyed trips to the river where they went boating and quad running. Never without his baseball cap, he was an avid Angels fan and loved watching baseball in his free time or attending games in person. And the year would not be complete without the annual boys adventure to the monster truck rallies. A generous soul, caring son, dependable brother, giving friend, loving spouse, and patient father, Larry was a blessing to all who knew him. He will be very missed!
