Lennette Lesko

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Lennette Lesko, former assistant secretary/trust personnel employee and friend here at our conference. Lennette passed away on April 27, 2017 after health complications from acute leukemia. Lennette was born on December 7, 1943 in Orlando, Florida. She went to Forest Lake Academy and then received her B.S. in accounting at Southern Missionary College, now Southern Adventist University, in 1967. While there, she met the love of her life, Arthur Jon Lesko and got married on August 29, 1965. After graduating and working as an accountant for the college for a year, she worked for Voice of Prophecy and then moved to San Gabriel Academy in California with her husband. He was a Bible teacher and counselor, she a cashier. In 1981, Lennette joined our conference with Arthur, whom had started working as a pastor with SECC a couple years before. She started out as a receptionist, and soon became an accountant, treasurer assistant, conference assistant treasurer and assistant secretary/trust personnel. Lennette retired in 2009, but continued to be on call until her death. She worked for the Adventist Church for over 35 years. Veronica Mendez is just one of many who remembers Lennette for her kind words and thoughtful presence: “She was a beautiful, gentle person, and easy to work with. She enjoyed gardening, but most of all loved her family and never missed out on a lunch date with her husband.” Kim Stewart, another friend and coworker, remembers how hard she worked for the department: “She will always be remembered as one who gave willingly, with such a kindness and graciousness. While her contributions to this department were to help others create their own legacy, hers will forever be etched in the hearts and minds of the people around her whom she touched.” Please pray for her family as they go through this difficult time. Lennette is survived by her husband, Arthur; son, Todd and wife, Alma; daughter, Angela Lesko-Webley and her husband, Michael; and two grandchildren, Jared and Cassandra.
