Obituary

Loris Andrew Wrinkle September 27, 1943 – June 1, 2026

Loris Andrew Wrinkle entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on June 1, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on September 27, 1943, in Riverside, California, Loris spent his life serving God, caring for his family, and building lasting relationships within the community he loved. He passed away in Corona, California, the city he called home for many years.

Loris was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, and faithful servant of the Lord. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Jane (Patchin) Wrinkle, who passed away in 2021. Those who knew Loris understood the depth of his love for Mary Jane. Their marriage was a testament to commitment, devotion, and enduring love. In the years following her passing, he often spoke of her and carried her memory with him each day.

Loris proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He served honorably for five years aboard the USS Coontz (DLG-9), attaining the rank of Second Class Petty Officer (E-5). During his military service, he earned two Bronze Stars, the National Defense Service Medal, and a Good Conduct Award. The skills, discipline, and work ethic he developed in the Navy laid the foundation for a successful career as a field engineer in the aerospace industry.

Following his military service, Loris built a distinguished career with Hughes Aircraft, Boeing, and Raytheon. Through hard work and dedication, he provided for his family and enabled his wife to remain at home to raise their children. He took great pride in being a provider and was deeply committed to the well-being of those he loved.

His greatest passion, however, was serving the Lord. More than twenty years ago, Loris became one of a small handful of believers who gathered for worship in Pastor Jim's home. Through faith, dedication, and countless hours of service, he helped Connection Church grow from those humble beginnings into the thriving church family it is today. Throughout the years, he faithfully served as Head Usher, maintenance worker, inspector, and whatever else was needed to ensure the church functioned smoothly. He never sought recognition; he saw a need and worked to meet it.

Loris was known throughout the community for his kindness, compassion, intelligence, and unwavering integrity. He was a man of his word whose actions consistently reflected his character. He genuinely cared about people and never met a stranger he did not converse with. Whether he was greeting visitors at church, sharing a meal at Texas Roadhouse, enjoying breakfast at Farmer Boys or Silver Dollar Pancake House, or simply running errands around town, Loris was often engaged in conversation. He loved connecting with people, hearing their stories, and making them feel welcomed and valued.

To his grandchildren, he was "Pops." Nothing brought him greater joy than spending time with them and watching them grow. His love for family was evident in every aspect of his life. He was a steady presence, a source of wisdom, encouragement, and support, and someone his family could always count on.

Loris is survived by his three sons, Bryan Andrew Wrinkle, Jeffrey Lonson Wrinkle, and Scott Wayne Wrinkle; Scott's fiancée, Augustina Reyes; his brother, Mark Wrinkle; and his nine beloved grandchildren: Skylar Ann, Aiden Andrew, DeAnna Lee, Delaney Rose, Bryleen Constance, Dimitri Loris, Bryan Andrew II, London Rae, and Elijah Alian.

He also leaves behind a church family, countless friends, former coworkers, neighbors, and members of the community whose lives were touched by his kindness, faithfulness, and friendship. The outpouring of love following his passing reflects the profound impact he had on those around him. He will be remembered not only for what he accomplished, but for who he was—a faithful servant, a loving husband and father, a devoted grandfather, and a man whose life reflected his faith.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Connection Church, 1441 E. 6th Street, Corona, California 92879. A reception will immediately follow the service.

Interment with military honors will take place at 2:30 p.m. at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Boulevard, Riverside, California 92518.

Though he will be deeply missed, the legacy of Loris Andrew Wrinkle lives on through the family he cherished, the church he helped build, the community he served, and the many lives he touched through his faith, kindness, and unwavering love.
