Louis Gutierrez Salgado

Dad Salgado, Louis G. Aka: Louie, Luigi, Uncle Louie, Grandpa and Papa Louie Louis G. Salgado passed away Friday, January 25 2019 at Corona Regional Hospital with his family by his bedside. He was born in New Mexico, on June 20, 1922, and at age 10 his family moved to California where he resided the remainder of his life. In his younger years he worked a carpenter by trade, Louis and his wife Ruth owned and operated 2 local businesses Louie's Market and Louie's Liquor, where they worked side by side for 25 years and became very well known in our community. Whenever he went anywhere, some one would always say, "Hi Louie, remember me?" He eventually chose to go back into carpentry until his late 80's. Louis loved to fish, enjoyed having family over for BBQ's, but most of all loved to watch his grand kids grow up. Louis was always a very independent man who was extremely hard working and always wanted to stay busy. He still mowed his lawn, cleaned his pool, put up his Christmas lights and just had his drivers licensed renewed in June for 2 more years! His strong-willed spirit is what kept him going. He will be missed tremendously by family and friends, but we can find happiness knowing he's reunited with his wife again. Louis is preceded in death by his wife Ruth of 61 years, his parents and grandson, Christopher. Survived by sister Marcella Arguelles, 3 daughters: Sylvia Ramirez (Sal), Sandy Swalm, Roxane Nixon (Brad); his 5 grandchildren: Tim (Gilbert), Kimberly, Ivy (Ryan H.), Ryan S., Samantha (Daniel); 5 great-grandchildren: Bianca, Tre', Madison, Alexis and Daniel; 2 great-great grandchildren: Jacob and Abigail. Visitation will be Thursday, February 7, 2019 from 4-8PM Rosary at 7PM at Thomas Miller Mortuary. The Funeral mass will be held at Saint Edwards Catholic Church on Friday, February 8, 2019 at 11:00AM with interment to follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Riverside.
