Lucille was born in Illinois, the youngest child of Anna and Charles Karp. As a child, she had a brief stint as a model for the Spiegel catalog. She showed great promise as a young artist and continued painting well into her eighties. One of her early artworks hung in the Art Institute of Chicago.
After WWII, she met and married Raymond Bazylewicz, had a daughter, Deborah, and worked for various manufacturing companies as a statistical typist and accounting clerk. Twenty years later, the family of three relocated to Anaheim, California. A few years after that, they moved to Placentia where Lucille resided for over 45 years, most of those years as a widow.
Lucille worked as a payroll accountant until she retired at age 65. She was an armchair sports enthusiast. Putting that TV time to good use, she managed to crochet many afghans, some baby clothes, and knitted a few sweaters. Lucille was active in various senior groups, played BINGO, and did some traveling. She enjoyed the day trips to the nearby Casinos. She traveled to Poland and Italy and cruised through the Panama Canal and to Alaska.
Among the things that made her smile were roses, Fannie May chocolates, Polish food, her French Poodles, Christmas lights, and babies and toddlers. She was 96 years old.
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Ray, her parents and her stepmother, Victoria, her brothers and sisters: Leonard (Kay), Louise (Chuck), Valerie (Bob), and Joey (Javey). She is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Kenneth) and her niece Charlene (Tom). She lived a long, full life. She will be missed.
