Margaret Lorraine Pratt was born in Corona, California on February 21,1930 to Salley Irene and John Lowe Jeffreys. She attended Jefferson Elementary, Corona JR High, and Corona High School during her early childhood years. She participated in Glee Club, Traveling Choir, and Orchestra. Margaret was a multi-talented musician playing piano, organ, accordion, and base fiddle. Since her mother, Sister Salley Jeffreys, was the pastor of the Corona Church of God for her entire childhood and a great part of her adult life, she was committed to serving in the church as a musician, Sunday School Teacher, and YPE Leader. On May 5,1950 she married the love of her life, Doyle Preston Pratt. In 1954, during the Korean War, Doyle enlisted in the United States Army and he and his bride were relocated to Heilbron, Germany where they lived until 1956. God continued to use Margaret across the seas and far from home as a teacher and musician in the Gamandigotus Church of God in Heilbron. During the war there were many orphans and it was easy to adopt children. When Margaret and Doyle returned to the United States in 1956, they brought two very special souvenirs. God used them to rescue two little boys from a life of poverty and suffering. They were able to provide a couple in the US, who were praying for God to give them children, with two sons. One of her greatest sacrifices was to give those children to the adoptive parents when she returned as she had grown to love them dearly. God blessed her obedience and sacrifice and gave her and Doyle two sons of their own, Jeffrey Doyle, born on March 22, 1958, and Kevin Wayne, born on April 21, 1964. Margaret was a member of the Republican Women's Association and a faithful supported of Teen Challenge, missions, orphanages, and bible schools across the globe. Outside of the home, she worked demonstrating for Alpha Beta and Archway Cookies. In 1978 she went to work for Citibank and in 1984 she worked for Corona Regional Hospital, where she retired in 1995. She loved to travel and cook, but her greatest love was for her grandchildren. God gave her 4 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and one great-grandchild on the way. On June 10th at 5:35 pm heaven welcomed her home and a great family reunion began. There is no way to measure or account for the thousands of lives impacted by her service and generosity over the years. Every gift, every prayer, and every meal prepared in love mattered and today she has entered in to her eternal reward and rest, and will forever be with her Savior.
