Maria Guadalupe Abundez

Maria Guadalupe Abundez passed away at the age of 56 on August 15, 2026, in Riverside, California, surrounded by the love of her family.

Maria was born on September 4, 1969, in Zacatecas, Mexico, and grew up in Aguascalientes. On July 17, 1994, she married the love of her life, Rafael Abundez, and moved to California, where they built their life together.

Maria was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and the heart of her family. She was blessed with two daughters, Kimberly and Alison, three stepchildren, and 13 grandchildren, who lovingly called her Mimi.

Maria found joy in the simple and beautiful things in life. She loved decorating, gardening, dancing, and, above all, being surrounded by the people she loved. She was the best cook and loved a good party. She also had an adventurous spirit and was always ready for the next adventure, whether it was a road trip or a 10-hour plane ride.

Maria was a devout Catholic with a steadfast faith. Throughout her years long battle with cancer, she remained a testament to strength, faith, and perseverance. Her faith carried her through the most difficult moments and touched many.

Her smile could light up a room. She was the rock of the family-the person who brought everyone together, loved unconditionally, and found a way to bring joy wherever she went.

Although no one can ever replace her, her family will carry her legacy forward by trying to live with the same unconditional love, faith, warmth, and joy that she gave so freely to others.

Maria will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
