Maria Payne

Maria Estella Hartshorn Payne (Otaez), aged 91, passed peacefully in her home on December 23, 2021. Her final breaths came gently and following a prayer led by her youngest grandchild. Estella left this life encircled by earthly and heavenly loved ones. Her four children, Estella Maria Verdouw, Jimmy George Hartshorn, Ruby Ann Farnsworth, and Margarita Laura Kane faithfully tended their mother. Her seven grandchildren, their spouses, fifteen great-grandchildren, and many devoted friends were honored to care for and laugh with Estella in her final weeks of life. Twice widowed, Mrs. Maria Estella Hartshorn Payne's sweet banter and twinkling blue eyes made it clear her husbands, Trigger Jim Hartshorn (1919-1986) and Alva E. Payne (1922-2003), guided her journey towards heaven. Estella's passing, like her life, was graceful and inspirational. She planted seeds of excellence in everyone she met. That is her legacy.
