Mark Arthur Blackwell

Mark was known for his charismatic, outgoing personality, generosity, and devotion to family and friends. He always had time to talk, share stories, and listen to those who needed him most. His presence would light up a room and his smile and laughter brought joy to all those who knew him best. Mark Arthur Blackwell passed on January 26, 2021 at the age of 66. He was born on April 22, 1954, in Los Angeles, California to Bernice and Ernest Blackwell, Sr . Mark was a beloved family man and a loyal friend to all. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War from 1972 to 1974. He enjoyed sports; his favorite basketball team the LA Lakers, cooking, dancing, sharing sweet treats with his grandkids, watching movies with his family, writing letters and poetry in beautiful penmanship, and would personalize poems for friends and family members. He was sociable, a stylish dresser, and enjoyed connecting with loved ones . Mark would frequently check in on others and always ended his calls warmly to convey he cared. You always felt loved after seeing Mark. In 1990, Mark met and fell in love with his wife Lorraine, and they were married 8 years later. He is survived by his loving wife Lorraine; his children Keith, Malaika, Hasani, Shanna, Lisa, Keana; their grandchildren Keith Jr, Keenan, Chastity, Triniti, Victoria, Sierra, Marsani, Alaijay, Hailey, Kaila, Thomas, Mikyi, Joshua, Jody, Isabella, Gabriella, Aryeh, and Noah; his sister Julie; 4 nieces, 3 nephews and a host of family and friends. Preceding Mark in death were his mother Bernice, father Ernest Blackwell, Sr., and his 3 brothers Ernest Blackwell, Jr., Michael Blackwell, and Gaaron Paul Blackwell.
