Mark Steven Macias, 58, a long time Corona resident passed away on Friday, March 1, 2019. If you talked to Mark a week before he died he would say I am fine. If you talked to his wife Janine she would say his cancer is progressing and we are praying for a miracle. Although his prognosis was dire, he battled on, lived his life, kept working and had an unwavering faith in God. He survived longer than the doctors expected. He never wanted to be an inconvenience because he had cancer and he would not want his obituary to suggest he lost a long battle to it. By his reckoning, cancer could not win, and he could only hope for a draw. And so it was. Mark Macias hated to lose. He was born to Phyllis and Victor Macias on September 2nd, 1960 in Downey, California. He was the middle child and is survived by his older sister Julie and his younger brother Bobby. As a young man he attended school in Corona and was very active in little league and Indian guides. He graduated from Corona Senior High in 1978 and then later graduated from National University with a degree in computer science. In 1984 he began working for Schlumberger as an engineer and later the company merged with Oce' where Mark worked for almost 25 years at a job that he loved. In 2009 he was laid off and then started his own business, Wrigley consulting. Then in 2013 he was hired by his good friend Trey Beahm at FTSI. Although he loved working in Corona, a sales job in security systems became available and Mark started at Enterprise security in 2016 where he worked as a sales engineer until he died. In 1982 he married Janine Wagoner. They were happily married for 36 years and raised three beautiful children, Jessica, Jordan and Jack. Together they were active in their church and other local charities. Mark loved God, his family and the Dodgers and on opening day not necessarily in that order. He will be greatly missed by those he loved and those who loved him. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Crossroads church, Disabilities ministry/Night to shine prom. A memorial service will be held on April 13th at 2pm at Crossroads church, 2331 Kellogg Ave., Corona, CA. 92881 Service Crossroads Christian Church 2331 Kellogg Ave Corona, CA 92881 Saturday 4/13, 2:00 pm
