“Those We Love Dont Go Away; They Walk Beside Us Every Day, Unseen, Unheard, But Always Near, Still Loved, Missed and Very Dear” Margery Lea Ropp Alarcon, or better known as Marty, was born on January 21st, 1959 at St. Josephs Hospital of Orange C.A. to Margaret Jane and Benny Ray Ropp. Marty has two older sisters, Denise and Kerry, and one younger brother, Ron. She was a very kind-hearted and creative child who liked to help others and never wanted to disappoint her family. Marty met her soulmate, Paul Dennis Alarcon, on September 28th, 1972 (she was 13 and he was 15) while he was walking past her house. She knew it from the moment she saw him, and on February 7th, 1978 Marty and Paul were married. In February of 1979, Marty and Paul moved to Norfolk, Virginia due to Paul serving in the Marine Corps. Soon after moving, Marty became pregnant with her Daughter, Laini. On March 29th, 1980, Marty became a mother giving birth to her first daughter, Laini Dawn. After Pauls service in the Marines was completed in February 1981, Marty, Paul, and Laini moved back to California to be closer to her beloved family. On August 18th, 1982, Marty and Paul welcomed their second daughter, Michelle Denise, and soon after purchased their first home in Riverside, C.A. On December 11th, 1985, Marty and Paul welcomed their third daughter, Lindsey Lea. On December 5th, 1991, Marty and Paul welcomed their fourth daughter, Catherine Clara. Unfortunately, due to complications at her birth, Catherine passed away just three days later on December 7th, 1991. After coping from the loss of their daughter, Marty and Paul were blessed with the birth of their fifth and final daughter, Danielle Nicole October 12th, 1993. Marty led a life full of crusades; she prided herself on being an activist for all but especially for children. Marty spent her time ensuring the world would be a better place for her daughters to grow up in by participating in their schools PTA, in school site councils, and in city council. She organized events for bike safety and supporting our troops, and she was recognized by the Mayor of Riverside for her work on the parking, traffic and streets commission on April 19th, 1994. She always made her family proud with how she always achieved her goals. In June of 1994, Marty and Paul bought their second home, her dream home. She loved hosting pool parties and having a place for her daughters to host their friends under her careful, loving watch. In June of 1995, Marty entered the waters of baptism and was baptized by her husband, Paul. A year later, on July 6th, 1996, she was sealed for time and all eternity to her husband and daughters. As time went on Marty was overjoyed to become a grandma; she often referred to being a grandma as the “Best Job Ever!” She loved all of her grandchildren and took time with them to learn their personalities to give them each a nick name. To Lil Bear, Tiger, Lil Buddy, Butterfly Princess, Monkeys, and Smiley: your Grandma loved you with all her heart and had such pride in everything you have accomplished so far. She will always be smiling down on you and excited for your triumphs, and she will carry you through your troubles. Marty was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to all. Pleasant dreams, God bless you, and We love you.
