Marvin T. Kopay, long time Corona, CA resident, passed peacefully on August 1, 2022 surrounded by close family. Marvin (Marv) was born in Chicago, IL on May 10th, 1936 to parents Louis and Mary Kopay. Many of Marv's fondest memories were of the time he spent on his grandparents' farm in Mystic, IA. During his abundant life, Marv "followed the work," eventually relocating to Corona, CA where he spent a long and significant career at Rockwell (Boeing). Marv was recognized for playing an integral role in the success of many major space shuttle missions such as Apollo 13 and the Endeavor. Marv was a very personable and charming person, loved by all who met him. He was known affectionately around the neighborhood as "grandpa." Marv is preceded in death by wife, Irene; son, Scott; and daughter, Martha. He is survived by sons, William and Robert Kopay; granddaughter, Savannah Livingston (Tim); grandsons, Nathan Kopay and Cullen Livingston (Brandy); and three great grandsons, Luke, Liam, and Levi. A memorial service will be held in his honor at Thomas Miller Mortuary located at 1118 E. 6th street, Corona, CA 92879 on Tuesday, Aug 9th at 11:00 am.
