Mary Mendoza

Mary Mendoza, a loving mother, grandmother, and a lifelong resident of Corona, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2024, at 85 years of age.

Mary was born on October 24, 1939, in Corona to Edwardo and Lucy Ramirez. Mary grew up with two brothers, Edward Jr (Vico) and Frank (Bazooka), two sisters Lupe (Esparza) and Josie (Mosqueda).

Mary attended local Corona schools and enjoyed many activities and social events growing up. She attended Corona Senior High School and graduated in 1959. During high school she met her true love, Louie Mendoza Sr. and they were married in May of 1961. Mary and Louie raised a family of four children which included Louie Jr, Sylvia, Richard, and Ruben.

Mary worked for the Corona Norco Unified school district as a bilingual teacher’s aide. She retired after 30 years of service, which she genuinely enjoyed. During the early years Mary enjoyed camping with her family in the Sierra Nevada Mountains, traveling, and attending many family gatherings. In her later years she became an active member of the Corona Senior Citizens Center and Hispanic Social Circle Women’s Club. She loved shopping, going to the Casino, and spending time with all her group friends.

Mary’s real true love was being with her family and taking pleasure in cooking family meals. She loved baking and making her favorite potato salad for all the family. But she absolutely loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Even though Mary has left this earth and her family she has gained a new one in Heaven. Her memory will live on through her children Louie (Rosie), Sylvia, Richard (Delia), Ruben (Adriana). Grandchildren Marie, Aiden, Ruben Jr. (Alejandra), Briana, Rayna, (Henry), Clarissa and Great grandchildren Julian and Jacob.

The Mendoza family invites you to join them at 10:30am at St. Matthews church on January 6, for viewing and church service at 11:30am. Burial to follow at Crestlawn memorial Cemetery.
