Michael was born Jan. 4th 1949 in Littleton Colorado he moved to Whittier California when he was 16. He was an avid motorcycle rider from age 9 also loved the outdoors and fishing. Fresh out of high school he went to Barber College. It was during this time he meet Cheryl Elliott his wife of 53 years they had 2 daughters together Shelly and Connie. He was a barber stylist his whole adult career and taught at Cerritos College for a period of time. He climbed to the top of his profession was well respected and had lifelong customers. It was here he learned the art of storytelling and he had a repertoire several miles long. He would read at least a book a month. He was the kind of person who could learn anything and loved to broaden his horizons. He loved taking care of his vehicles and home to the point when he wanted ceramic tile he learned how to lay ceramic tile and so on. He enjoyed many hobbies slot car racing, leather stamping, ceramics/pottery, oil painting, wood working, jewelry making. After turning 50 he got to do his lifelong dream of motorcycle road racing. He was very successful. He was his own mechanic, building his bikes by converting super single dirt bikes into road racing machines. He was nicknamed the Renaissance Man. His last year of racing he was doing so well he decided to see how far he could take it and won the senior sportsman division plus the number 3 plate. He said I have done everything I set out to do racing and moved onto other things. Mike and Cheryl loved camping on 395 in California the fishing and hiking were great. He loved taking his family on new adventures so they traveled to Grand Canyon both rims, Brice, Glenn Canyon, Black Canyon of the Gunnison, Rocky mountain national Park the redwoods of California and so many more places we cannot list them all. He took his family to the world's fair in Canada and camped across Canada. He was truly an amazing man of many talents and a heart of gold. His greatest happiness was being able to help someone in need.
