Migdonia Lomibao Corpuz

Migdonia Lomibao Corpuz, age 95, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2019 in Corona, California. She was born on December 23, 1923 in Dagupan City, Philippines. She graduated from a two-year college that specifically trained teachers. As a result of her exceptional teaching skills, she was assigned to teach a combination of grade levels including first, second and third grades. She married Eufrocino Corpuz on January 23, 1953, who later preceded her in death in 1990. They had moved from the Philippines to San Bernardino, California in 1954. She was very proud of becoming a US Citizen in 1966. "Meding" and "Cino" were very active members of the Filipino Association ("the Filipino Club") of San Bernardino County, serving various officer positions. Meding was a fabulous cook and her Filipino dishes were greatly enjoyed at the Filipino Club potlucks; her pots and pans were always scraped clean, almost as soon as they were placed on the buffet table. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing and was also an accomplished seamstress, sewing clothes for her children as well as many of her traditional Philippine gowns that she wore at the Filipino Club dinner dances. In order to add income to the household, she used her sewing skills at a clothing factory from 1976 through 1984. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, and was very proud of her three children, all college graduates. She is survived by her daughter Rosemary Blank and her husband David, her sons Eugenio Corpuz and his husband Dale Spaulding, Eduardo Corpuz and his wife Lynda, and three grandchildren; Joshua and Marisa Blank, and Evan Corpuz.
