Loving husband and father Mike Santos was born in Cayey, Puerto Rico. He came to Corona, California when he was six months old. The son of Augustine and Regina Santos and brother to Luis. He went to Kimbell School where his wife also attended, and he did not even know it yet. They also lived on the same street and did not know it. He was drafted as a teenager to the Vietnam War and served in the branch of the army leading as a sharpshooter among other jobs. He met his wife Dolores before he left to the war and wrote her letters and sent her pictures while he was gone. When he returned from the war, he married her immediately. He worked in aerospace at Alcoa for over 20 years. He also went back to Puerto Rico a couple of times to share the island with his kids. Mike is survived by his 3 children Michael, Ruben, and Crystal Mejia, 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was an amazing and very supportive father. Education was very important to him. He denied his future son in law permission to marry his daughter until she was done with college. One of the conversations you could count on having was when he would always ask:" How is school going?" He loved hollering out all the names of his children and grandchildren adding a special twist or sentiment like "Marina Santos she's got sand between her toes." He also loved doing a special handshake with all the kids that he and his daughter made up when she was young. He only wanted the best for all the kids, and you could see how proud he would get with all the accomplishments they would share with him. He was such a generous man opening his door to any family member in need. Many people walked through his door over the years. He had many roommates throughout the years! He had a positive impact on the people he met by being so happy. He enjoyed taking walks, sitting outside to get his vitamin D, and loved Elvis. He always enjoyed listening to Solid Gold oldies music. He enjoyed going to Las Vegas but always wanted to "Cash Out." Any winnings he considered good money, even if it was a small amount. 😉 Although he was going through a lot with his health the last few months my dad was a fighter and prevailed. He made a stamp in our hearts and will be forever missed and thought of daily. To my dad I love you and am so proud to be your child, I could not have gotten as far as I did without your love, support, and humor. Thank you, dad. God bless you. You are in a better place now.
