Norma G Marzolf

Norma G. Marzolf Norma went home to be with the angels on January 15, 2014. In her lifetime she was a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and matriarch of a large and loving family. Norma was born on March 22, 1925 in Massillon, Ohio. She was the daughter of Gwillyum and Nora Edwards. Norma was married in 1942 to Kenneth Shafer who gave his life in the war effort of WWII as a P 38 pilot. In 1957 Norma moved her four children to California by way of Route 66. She raised her children in Garden Grove working as a grocery clerk for over 30 years. Norma married Al Marzolf in 1961 who passed away in 1995. Norma was larger than life, always traveling, always making sure all family members were taken care of. She was the one to contact for information about births, weddings, and all the celebrations in the family. Being the oldest of five sisters was a lot to keep track of Normas traveling also consisted of vacation trips with her sister Wanda, down the Mississippi, numerous cruises and a fabulous three week trip to China. Norma also belonged to and traveled with the Tiffin Senior Travel Club. She is survived by her three sons, Brian ONeill, Danny ONeill and Roger Smith and was preceded in death by Charlene Shafer, her only daughter. She was also blessed with 11 Grandchildren and 21 Great grandchildren. Norma was truly a member of “The greatest generation” and will be dearly missed by all who had the good fortune to know her on this earth.
