Patricia Ann Barker

Patricia (Markowitz) Barker passed on March 8, 2024, in Ontario, California. She was born March 11, 1931, on Jameson Ranch in Corona, California. Patricia graduated from Corona Senior High School with the class of 1948. Along with fellow graduates, Patricia was on the planning committee for their high school reunion celebrations.


Patricia lived in Corona most of her life. She worked in Nagoya, Japan, at the Air Force Hospital, as a secretary from 1952 to 1953. She then worked at the Air War College at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama, from 1953 to 1954. Finally, Patricia worked at the Naval Hospital in Norco as a secretary from 1954 to 1956.


Patsy loved to ride horses and belonged to the Golden Star Riding Club of Home Gardens and was in many parades. She belonged to two historical groups/clubs in Corona. She was a member of Crossroads Church since 1955 or 1956, when it was still called the Church of Christ. She was very active and involved in her church community, acting as a Sunday School teacher for many years. Patricia was involved with “Mid-Day Alive” at Crossroads, “Every Wednesday” at West Grand Baptist, served as president of Crossroads Women’s Groups, was chairman of Baptism, was a Shepard, and was hostess of a Bible study in her home for many years.


She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Barker-Hatch (Hugh), of Eastvale, California; former son-in-law Joseph Panattoni, former son-in-law Brad Blankenship (Brenda), former son-in-law Wayne Denniston (Linda), four grandchildren: Joseph Panattoni II, Daniel Panattoni, Roger Denniston (Lindsey), and Crystal Hill (Justin), and five great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Patricia is preceded in death by her husband, John L. Barker, daughter Sherry (Barker) Panatoni, parents Sam and Ruth Markowitz, her brothers Donald and Paul Markowitz, and her sister Jacqueline “Kay” Markowitz Rogers.
