Corona, California Patricia (McCarthy) Kelty, 85, passed away peacefully with both of her children by her side May 17, 2021, at Riverside Community Hospital. The daughter of John J. (Jack) and Mary P. (Molly) McCarthy, she was born in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, on July 24,1935, spending her early years there before moving to Pennsylvania with her parents. A graduate of the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, she later moved to California where she continued working as a registered nurse - a career that spanned 40 years. She married Kimball (Kim) Kelty, a kind and gentle man, in 1961 and they lived happily together in Fullerton and Corona until his death in 1998. She retired so that she could stay at home and care for him during his illness. Their two children, John and Molly, meant everything to them and were the beneficiaries of their love and affection. It was John and Molly and the grandchildren that followed who helped fill the void after Kim passed away. Known as "Tippy" to her five sisters and to the numerous nieces and nephews who genuinely loved her, Pat was devoted to her family, her Catholic faith, her Irish heritage and her profession. She made many friends and enjoyed spending time with those closest to her - Joann Stablow (whom she met in nursing school), Pam Shaver, Colleen Belanger, Vicki Stephen, Susan Haupert, Roni Hartman, Patti Mead, and Marilyn Gallagher. But she especially treasured the time she spent with her sisters. There was no limit to the love they shared for each other and certainly no time limit to the card games they so enjoyed when they were together. Their bond was unique. Their love real. Their friendship forever. Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and sisters Dorothy Welsh, Mary Ellen Koegel, Virginia Eileen McCarthy, Joann Lenahan, and Peg Andrews, Pat is survived by her son, John; daughter, Molly Conser; Philip Conser; grandchildren Tasha, Fiona, and McLain Kelty; Brianna and Kyle Conser; great grandchild Kiley Hill; and her sister, Sally Berg, with whom she shared an incredibly close and special friendship. Pat Kelty was a sincere, loving and generous woman. She was independent but cared deeply for others and never hesitated to help even if it meant putting aside her own needs and traveling across the country to be by their sides. She would do anything for her children and grandchildren and was a second mother to many others. She loved her parents immensely and was there for them when they most needed her. She is with them now, and with Kim, and with five of her McCarthy sisters.
