Born Paul Frazer Yoe on August 12, 1928 to Paul and Pauline Yoe in the growing city of Dubuque, Iowa. Near the headwaters of the Mississippi River, Dubuque was home to many eastern European migrs, including those of his father's Hungarian heritage. Paul was called Frazer, and often accompanied his dad on visits throughout the community. His father was actively involved in the community as both an educator, coach, and a member of various civic communities in both Dubuque and Mt. Morris, Illinois, where Paul attended elementary school. Service to community was an attribute Paul carried throughout both his personal and professional lives. The family moved to Kenosha, Wisconsin where his father became the Field Director to the American Red Cross. Paul graduated high school from Mary D. Bradford High School in Kenosha in 1946, and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps with the goal of realizing the benefits of the G.I. Bill. Ever the planner, this man. Paul packed his bags, bid his farewells, and jumped on the bus for boot camp at Perris Island, South Carolina. Completing boot camp, Paul headed to Camp Lejeune, North Carolina for Aviation/Supply School. Wrapping that up, he was transferred to his first permanent party assignment to El Toro Marine Corps Airbase, Tustin, California. And then the magic begins…. Ramona Delphine Clinard of Long Beach, California and attending Long Beach City College was also a member of the local U.S.O. organization supporting troops at local military posts. Paul and Ramona met at a dance at El Toro, and the legacy began. He doggedly pursued her affections and love, following the chaperoned bus back to Long Beach, along with his Marine buddies, on numerous occasions. They were married in a full blue dress uniform, cross swords, Marine Honor Guard ceremony on June 17, 1950 in Long Beach, California. Paul retired as a Master Sergeant after 20 years of exemplary service In 1966, and with the help of his brother-in-law, Walter, began a career in banking with Security Pacific that lasted another 18 years and retired, once again and permanently, in 1983. Paul and Ramona began yet another adventure residing in San Miguel, Baja California, St. George, Utah, Mesquite, Nevada, with trips to Western Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and the Alaskan Glaciers until finally settling in Corona, California. Their marriage of love lasted 63 years of adventure here on earth, and ended on November 21, 2013 with Ramona's death. While never ending, their love was renewed in heaven on September 22, 2018 with Paul's passing. Paul is survived by his daughter Karen Wunderlich and husband Bob of Placentia, California, son Robert and wife Joyce of Auburn, Georgia, and daughter Wendy Weaver from Lake Elsinore, California. Grandpa will be missed by 9 grandchildren, all with nicknames, 17 or so great grandchildren, (he lost count and started numbering them ‘uno, dos, tres,' etc). He is remembered by dear family members, countless loving friends, old Marines, and former career colleagues. Paul was a courageous Marine, a dedicated dad, mentor, supporter, cherished grandpa. He was a wonderful and great man and will be missed by many. Paul is dancing with Ramona… again. Cemetery Riverside National Cemetery 22495 Van Buren Blvd Riverside, CA 92518 Monday 10/22, 1:00 pm
