The Life of Paul Warren Winters - 1940-2021 Paul Warren Winters was born in Phoenix, Arizona on November 2, 1940. He returned home to our Lord's welcoming embrace June 5, 2021, surrounded by his family…"Well done, thou good and faithful servant!" Paul grew up in Riverside, California and had a great love of cars and the beach life and would often play volleyball and snorkel. He went to Ramona High School in Riverside and then served in the Air Force from 1962-1968. He was stationed in Okinawa, Korea and Thailand. After his service, he started working for IBM repairing typewriters. He married Pamela Anne Poulsen on June 22, 1967 in the Los Angeles Temple and lived in Ridgecrest, CA. He then decided to use the GI bill and complete his education that took them to BYU-Provo in Utah. In 1972, they moved to Tooele, Utah and bought a home. During his time in Tooele, he graduated from BYU with a Bachelor of Science, his specialty was Horticulture. His love for growing things would last his entire lifetime, including developing amazing hydroponic systems and building a greenhouse. He also worked for Tooele Transcript, the local newspaper, as a pressman. After many business endeavors, he started Tooele Typewriter (which was located in the front room of our family home) repairing, cleaning typewriters and selling typewriter supplies. He received a contract with the school districts in the area and fixed typewriters. In 1987, after living in Utah for 17 years, he was finally able to take the family back to Riverside, and live in a home they bought from his mother. He was hired at the Riverside Press Enterprise, the local newspaper, where he worked as a machinist and repaired and kept the presses in running order for over 20 years. After retiring from the Press, he was a machinist for Mortan Industries. He loved building and inventing and could always be found in the garage or the backyard. Some of the projects he loved best were building a Tri-Magnum (3-wheeled car), building a hydrogen engine, creating ways to harness renewable energy sources, creating areas for food storage and emergency preparedness. He also loved cooking and eating healthy. He especially loved the oranges from his tree in the backyard. He also had a wonderful sense of humour and could often be found joking with anyone who would play along with him. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings including Sunday School Teacher, Ward Missionary, Home Teacher/Minister, Sunday School President, Bishopric 2nd Counselor, Seminary President, and Baptism Coordinator. He enjoyed going to the temple as often as he could. He loved his family and was always willing to share his love of the Lord and his wisdom from many years of studying the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Pamela Anne (Poulsen) Winters, his seven children; Wendy (Mark) Ryan, Warren (Susie) Winters, Kina Mundy, Kari (Joseph) Ward, Jenny Wolsleger, Jaron Winters, and Brendon Winters.
