Perla Llarena Venecio

March 2, 1949 — July 27, 2017

After a protracted battle with cancer, Perla “Baby” Venecio died at Loma Linda University Hospital at the age of 68 Perla was born in Caloocan City, Manila to parents, Jacinto and Leonor. She was the youngest of 5 siblings: Wenifredo, Paquito, Magdalena and Estella (all of whom are deceased). She was the eldest brothers favorite and was fondly called “Baby” by the family. She grew up in Blumentritt, Manila, Philippines. Graduated Bachelor of Science Major in Business Administration from Philippine College of Commerce in Manila. Completed her on-the-job training at Northern Motors as an operations analyst where she met husband Oscar. As friends, Oscar would often take the “jeepney” home with Perla to ensure that she safely gets home. It is especially challenging to take public transportation in Manila during rainy seasons where streets would often be flooded. He always made it a point to take her home safely and friendship turned into something more. They got married on January 25, 1975 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Caloocan City. Perla worked at the Development Bank of the Philippines as an Acquired Asset Manager for 15 years before immigrating to the US where she spent 19 years working for US Kusa Corporation as a Sales Manager. She traveled locally and internationally to develop Kusa Corp.s markets and was greatly depended on. She attended to clients and shareholders as she had a way with people and with words. A devoted wife and mother. Perla enjoyed cooking for the family and baby sitting her two lovely grand-daughters Mia and Olivia. She loved traveling the globe with husband of 42 years Oscar, who took care of her until her last breath last Thursday, July 27, 2017. She also leaves behind three sons and a daughter in law; Jason, Janice, Angelo, and Omar. Perla preferred to be cremated. Her ashes will be interred at Holy Sepulcher in Orange, California.
