Philip Alyn Sheets

Philip Alyn Sheets October 15, 1935-September 18, 2018 Philip Alyn Sheets passed away on September 18th, at the age of 82. Philip was a farm boy from Fairmount, Indiana. He was the fifth of eight children born to Ernest and Mariam Sheets. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Philip attended Ball State and graduated from Purdue University with a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering. He was employed by McDonnell Douglas Aircraft Company, in Long Beach, California from 1965 to 1976. A few years later he attended Pepperine University and earned a Juris Doctor degree in law. Philip passed the California Bar Examination on the first try! He was then hired by Kawasaki Motor Corp. U.S.A., where he advanced to the position of Director of Product Litigation. He worked for Kawasaki for 25 years, until he retired in 2001. Philip loved many things including hunting for arrowheads on his family's farm, playing the card game Euchre, reading, camping, walking his dogs, gardening, talking with friends, his Men's Bible Study, and his church, Community Church of Norco. Philip is survived by his immediate family: his wife Anna Sheets, son Philip Sheets Jr., daughter Michele Sheets, daughter in-law Tina Sheets, and grandson David Sheets, and his siblings Richard Sheets, Mary Carolyn Jones-Sheets, Jack Sheets, Robert Sheets, James Sheets, and John Sheets. A private ceremony will be held for Philip at Riverside National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, Philip's family requests a card with a favorite memory of him.
