Phillip Ron Hernandez, age 35, went to be with his Lord on February 19, 2021. Phillip was born on May 01, 1985 to Rigoberto and Pamela Hernandez in Downey, California. Phillip proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 2005-2008. He learned the meaning of service, importance of mentorship, and how to protect his family. He loved the Marine Corps, you would know this by listening to his stories. After transitioning to civilian life, Phillip worked in security services. He worked in multiple settings from hospitals, private events, and school campuses. He truly served his community. In 2013, he found purpose working for the Corona Norco Unified School District. At CNUSD, he took his experience from the Marines and applied it to mentoring high school students. He was a teacher and mentor to many students of the unity club. His kindness and guidance helped them meet their goals. He positively changed lives. Phillip was always bettering himself and the life of his family. He enrolled in college to pursue a degree in computer communications. Professionally, Phillip was very proud to be licensed to carry a concealed weapon in the states of Nevada and California. He was in the midst of achieving his dream by opening his own security business before he was called home. Phillip enjoyed cooking, baking, and bar-b-quing. His brownies were famous. He was a great handyman, loved to fix everything. He was great at ice skating and roller blading. Phillip loved the outdoors, fishing, bike riding, the beach, and often took the girls on long family trips. We've visited Sea World, the zoo, Disneyland and many more fun places. Our latest adventures were exploring San Diego and planning our cross-country trip. Phillip was blessed to have a large and loving family. He married his best friend Felisha by Apostle Frank Franco on July 17, 2018. Phillip was a wonderful father who raised his two children in a Godly home with patience, affection, and love. He taught Nazarah how to read and write in Spanish and English and enjoyed helping her with math homework. He enjoyed going to school field trips and never liked to miss any of the girls doctor appointments. Phillip called Nariyah his googly bear and loved giving her big daddy bear hugs. She brought him so much joy. Phillip was a great husband, father, son, brother, friend, and man. He will be dearly missed by all that loved him. Phillip is survived by his wife Felisha, his daughters Nazarah and Nariyah, his parents Rigoberto and Pamela, brother Rigo and family, and the Lara family.
