Phillip Salacup

Phillip M. Salacup Jr. (Phil) of Corona, California, peacefully passed away on September 1, 2021, surrounded by loved ones after a difficult battle with cancer. He was 54 years of age. Phil was born to Mr. Phillip G. and Pearl M. Salacup of Prunedale, California. After attending local schools and graduating from North Monterey High School in 1985, he pursued and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering at the University of California Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, California. Throughout his career he worked with several components of the U.S. Department of Justice (USINS) and U.S. Department of Homeland Security (USDHS) for over 23 years. Phil held positions as a Border Patrol Agent with the U.S. Border Patrol (USBP), as a Criminal Investigator with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and DHS Investigations respectively, where he was eventually promoted to the position of Supervisory Criminal Investigator until his retirement in 2017. Phil was passionate about Law Enforcement and loved what he did for a living. After retiring, Phil spent most of his time with family and friends as well as pursuing his love of fishing, camping, cycling, and attending LA Dodger games. He is survived by his spouse Karla M. Salacup, sons Lukas, Aaron and Christian, parents Phillip Sr. and Pearl Salacup, sister Andrea, niece Micaela, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Catholic Services will be held at Thomas Miller Mortuary 1118 E. 6TH Street, Corona, California on Friday, September 17th from 5PM to 7PM. Special Memorial Services will also be held at Crossroads Christian Church, 2331 Kellogg Avenue, Corona, California 92881, on Saturday, September 18th from 10AM. Procession will follow and Burial with Honors to take place at Pierce Brothers Crest Lawn Memorial Park, 11500 Arlington Avenue, Riverside, California 92505. A reception for family and friends will be hosted at Skyland Ale Works Patio 1869 Pomona Road, Corona, California 92878, from 1:30 PM to 4:00PM.
