Born Ramona Delphine Clinard with the help of a mid-wife in the home of Robert and Eleanor on November 25, 1928 in the bustling town (population 1500) of Meeker, Colorado located in the Aspen tree-laden and wild flower graced mountains of northwest Colorado. The Clinards moved to Long Beach, California in 1938, where Ramona grew up and later attended Long Beach City College and became a member of the U.S.O. She and her friends would attend dances at El Toro Marine Corps Air Station in the days leading up to the Korean War. and she met Paul, her beloved and cherished husband for 63 years. Paul and his fellow Marines, being Marines after all, would follow these lovely ladies home, tailing the chaperoned U.S.O. bus back to Long Beach, (no freeways) where their fellowship would continue and romances would grow. Paul and Ramona were married on June 17, 1950 in a Marine Corps Dress Blues and Crossed Swords ceremony. Ramona was preceded in death by her sister Eleanor Mae, survived by her beloved husband Paul, her sister Joanne of Meridian, Mississippi, her daughter Karen Wunderlich and husband Bob of Placentia, CA., son Robert and wife Joyce of Auburn, Georgia, and daughter Wendy Weaver of Lake Elsinore, CA. She will be missed by 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, dear family members, and countless loving friends. Ramona was a wife, a mother, a Cub Scout Leader, a cheerleading coach, and a great cheerleader herself, often heard in the bleachers as a member of the Booster Club of El Dorado High School in Placentia, CA. All of this while enjoying a professional career herself, retiring from Security Pacific Bank. Following her retirement, she was a long time member of a ladies golf club, and enjoyed her fellowship and time with friends on the links. Her skills in arts and crafts are legendary with her friends and her family. She expressed her love in creating centerpieces for weddings, banquets, and family gatherings. She knitted blankets for every grandchild and great grandchild. Ramona sewed clothes for her children through out their lives, including Hawaiian shirts and muu-muus cut from the same cloth for a Marine Corps unit picnic while stationed in Kaneohe, Hawaii in the early sixties. You knew at a glance who was the family of Master Sergeant Paul Yoe. In one of her greatest expressions of love for her daughters, and there were many, was the creation and sewing of their wedding gowns. Paul often said he would build her a stand on Imperial Highway where she could sell her wares. And oh, what a cook. She will especially be remembered for her fried chicken and Hungarian Chicken Paprika with spaetzel noodles. Recipes were passed down, memories will be carried on for generations. Ramona and Pauls love for one other is one of the greatest love stories of all timeand continues to be. She will be missed by many hearts. She is the warming breeze that will live on in our eternity.
