Rebeca's Story Her journey began on September 4, 1951 in Acutzeramo, Michoacn. She was one of eight children born to Nicolas Cortez and Maria de Jesus Sanchez. Her siblings included Brothers Roberto, Gonzolo (D), and Nicolas, Sisters Yolanda and Amparo Brother Martin and Sister Teresa (D) Rebeca met her beloved husband Salvador Serrato In their hometown at the age of 15 They were later married in Escondido, California on June 21, 1968 And began their family shortly thereafter with children Angelica Maris Acosta, Sonia Marilu Hernandez, Alvaro Serrato, and Alex Serrato. She was further blessed with grandchildren Gabriel Hernandez, Brian Acosta, Michael Anthony Hernandez, Britney Daisy Acosta, Celeste Jasmine Serrato, Nathaniel Allan Serrato, Jake Matthew Hernandez, Alex Christian Serrato, Ethan Ryan Serrato And great grandchildren Harper Eliana Hernandez, Zayne Maddox Hernandez, And Kylie Zara Hernandez. Rebeca, know fondly ad Becky, came to the United States with Salvador in 1968. She worked in the fields picking produce, such as strawberries and oranges. She also worked at Fender Guitar for number of years. Becky was a fashionista before it was even a word. She was always dressed "A la Moda" looking lovely as ever. She even owned her own business for a time, appropriately named, Becky's Fashion. Rebeca loved to work and admire her garden, In her spare time she loved to cook and was always watching the cooking channel, She was a devout Christian, and would often attend service at Presence of the Lord Christian Church. She enjoyed watching movies on lifetime and catching up with Oprah and Ellen. But most importantly, Rebeca loved spending time with her family and having long conversations by phone with her Mom affectionately known as "Chuche" and her sister and children Rebeca went to be with Jesus on June 12, 2020. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and beloved grandmother and great grandmother. Her family, friends and those that loved her will miss her dearly.
