Obituary

Richard Scott Carrillo, 64, of San Bernardino, passed away on May 1, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Rick was born in Bellflower and raised in Corona from the age of two by his parents, Robert and Nancy Carrillo. It was in Corona that Rick met the love of his life, Mary Beth. They were best friends for their entire lives.

Rick followed in his father’s footsteps in the construction field and earned his real estate license. Over the years, he started three full‑time businesses and was known as a man who could “fix anything.” Though he was often described as a workaholic, he always made time to enjoy a day of fishing on the lake with his wife and spending time with his best pals, Kopi and Karter. In earlier years, he cherished his 20 seasons of LA Kings Hockey as a season ticket holder and loved watching baseball and football.

Rick is survived by his wife, Mary Beth; his father, Robert (Bob); his mother Nancy, (preceded in death), his brother, Robert (Bobby); his daughter, Kristin; and his stepchildren, Michael (Lacey) Gagner, Cari (Haris) Breining, and Katie (Mathew) Skogebo. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Thomas Miller Mortuary, in Corona, on May 30th at 11 a.m., with a reception to follow in Riverside. In honor of Rick’s love of sports, please wear your favorite team’s shirt or jersey to the service.
