Richard “Dick” S. Cook

April 25, 1931 — August 16, 2014

Of Corona, CA, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, August 16, 2014. Dick was born April 25,1931 in St. Louis, Missouri; the son of Sylvester and Celeste Cook. Richard was an avid golfer and spent many of his weekends on the golf course. He loved to travel with his wife and family. His career was in manufacturing where he became the president of two companies. He was a Korean War Veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1954 earning the National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal (Two Stars), China Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. Richard is survived by his loving wife Patti of 34 years. He is also survived by his children Karen (Al) Miner; Rick (Debra) Cook; Eileen Cook Spatz; Jim (Chavette) Schell; Brian (Dawn) Schell; Bridget (Carl) Campbell; his sister Val Frederick; mother-in-law Alice Carter; 20 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by daughter Teresa Carpenter; grandson Chris Spatz. Richard will be laid to rest at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, CA . on September 5, 2014 at 11:15 AM. There will be a Celebration of Life reception at the Cook residence in Corona, CA from 1:00 to 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Wounded Warrior Foundation. His family wishes to extend a special thank you to friends and family, near and far, for all of their love, care, and support.
