Widower Richard “Dick” Lester Howland (1937 – 2025) passed away June 26, 2025 at home in Corona, California, after a 2-month battle with cancer. He was a devoted husband to Sara Howland for 56 years and a loving father to his children, Leanne, Michael, Richard and Virginia. As a young man in 1955 he moved with his family from Danvers, Massachusetts to Southern California and embraced California. Over the years he body surfed, built model airplanes, rode dirt bikes, enjoyed golf and took road trips exploring the state. Dick enjoyed a successful 40-year career in the aerospace industry working his way up from tool crib shop clerk to supervisor. Projects he was proudest of were the Apollo Program, B1 Bomber and the Space Shuttle Program. Dick lived out his independent and active life, enjoying time with his loving family. Dick is survived by his brother Jeffrey Howland, Sister Kathy Ford, children Leanne Dupuis, Michael Howland, Richard Howland, Virginia Gandara, grandchildren Connor Howland, Trent Howland, Nathan Howland, Leila Jarrott, Bobby Ehdaie, Rooz Ehdaie and great granddaughters Ivey Ehdaie and Millie Howland.
