Richard Joseph Minogue

Richard Joseph Minogue, age 84, was called home to our Lord on Monday, January 10, 2022. Richard was born June 1, 1937 in Kansas City, Missouri to parents Violet and Mario Scardino. He was later adopted and raised by Frank Minogue. Richard was born and raised in Missouri and later moved to South Gate, California. Richard attended Pepperdine University and attended So Cal College of Optometry where he earned his Doctorate in Optometry. He was a successful Optometrist and had his own practice in Fullerton and Anaheim, CA for over 35 years. Richard married Evelyn Meziere in 1959. They raised six boys; Frank, Jim, Tom, Steve, Rich, and Chris. He loved his daughter in laws as his own as well, Mary (Frank), Michelle (Jim), Cindy (Rich) and Meg (Chris). Richards grandchildren were his pride and joy: Randy, Reese, Yvon, Rachel, AJ Jackie, Roni, Delaney, and Richard. If you ever wanted to find Richard he was most likely at a ball field or at the bowling alley. Richard played mens fast pitch softball for over 50 years. He shared this sport with his boys, wife, and grandchildren. He also enjoyed bowling with his family and friends. Although he would never brag, Richard bowled 3 perfect games in his career. Richard was also famous for his breakfast/ dinner dates. He loved going and spending time with his family. Richard was also committed to his Catholic faith. He made church a priority in his family life and was an example of It everyday. Richard will be most remembered for his love for sports, love for his friends, family, grandchildren, and mostly his love for his wife, Evelyn. We know they are rejoicing in Heaven together again. We will always carry his stories, laughs, and memories of his life forever.
