Richard Kent Davis

October 9, 1933 — April 28, 2015

Richard Kent Davis (Buck) was born October 9, 1933 to Howard Strausberg and (Stella) Joyce Johnson. He passed away at the age of 81 on April 26, 2015. Buck was raised in Montana by his mother and stepfather Lovell and Joyce Johnson Davis. After completing high school in Bozeman, Montana he joined the Air Force on April 1, 1953. He made a career of it retiring as a Senior Master Sargent on March 31, 1973. He served in Vietnam and received the Bronze Medal for meritorious service. While in France met his wife Margaret Ann Walford who was from England and they were married August 11, 1956 in England. Buck spent his civilian life as a paralegal in Moreno Valley, CA working for Reid, Babbach and Coil Law Firm until 1986 and then worked for Harlan Kestle Law Firm. When his sons began playing little league baseball in the early 60s Buck became very involved and did all things necessary to keep the ball game going. He loved it! Buck was a faithful mall walker logging over 20,000 miles at Moreno Valley Mall. He was very active in the Harvest Christian Fellowship church going on a few Crusades and served as an usher there and also the satellite church at Irvine when he had a place at the beach. When he passed away he was serving as an usher at Harvest Woodcrest. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 42 years and a son, Mark. He leaves behind three children: Glenn of Redlands, CA, Tracy (Chuck) Pierce of Buckley, WA, Sherry of Moreno Valley, CA and Sister Daryl and Brother David. He Has 10 grandchildren: Eric and Michael Davis; Kevin, Ryan, Tiffanie, Nicole, Nicholas and Stephanie Pierce; Matthew Davis; Jason Herrera and Wayne Davis. His seven great grandchildren are: James, Jordan and Shawn Pierce; Celia and Tyler Pierce; and Victoria and Mark Christensen.
