On Monday, May 18, 2020 Richard Michael Catozza went home to be with the Lord at the age of 69. He is survived by his three daughters, 1 brother and 6 grandkids. He was preceded in death by his father, Dominick Jr. and mother, Ann. He was born on June 1, 1950 in Cherry Point, North Carolina. At the age of 10 his family moved to Santa Ana, California where he was raised in a loving Catholic home and attended Saint Anne's Private School and Mater Dei High School. He was a mischievous young boy, making friends with all the nuns and became awfully familiar with the principal's office. He had many friends and loved to adventure outside. At the age of 13, his love for the ocean was apparent when he got his first job working on a fishing boat. At 18 he courageously joined the Army and served as a field medic in the Vietnam War. After the war he settled down and began his family. He was an amazing father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He lived for his fishing trips, never missed a holiday, and always showed up to support his family. He used to send a special card to each one of his daughters and grandkids every birthday and Christmas that he hand picked out to let them know how much he loved them. He taught his grandsons how to shoot guns, fish and treated his granddaughter like a princess. Richard was always positive, never complained and a great listener. He was loved by everyone, especially his daughters. He will be missed, and his memory will always live on in our hearts.
